TCCarry, Serenity, the Riverview, June 23...see you there
The good folks at MN Firefly -- the local Firefly/Serenity fan group -- are putting on a showing of Serenity on Saturday, June 23rd, at the Riverview at 11:30 PM. It's a benefit for Equality Now, one of Joss Whedon's preferred charities, and one that I think is generally pretty cool*, in general.
Well, it occurred to me that this might be a fun charitable/social thing for the folks over on the Forum, and if enough people would kick in a few bucks, we might be able to raise $250 for the Big Damn Hero package, given a couple of weeks, and it would definitely be fun for a few of us to get together -- the movie's got good gun values, among other things -- wearing our TCCarry "Reluctant Participant" t-shirts.
So, I put up a post on the Forum last Thursday . . . and folks kept hitting the tipjar, and we sent our second $250 contribution in this morning, which is why instead of one TCCarry banner here, there's two:
(And there's going to be more; more money's come in for this since then . . . if you want to help out with the TCCarry contribution, just hit the tipjar.)
We're going to get a seat block; if you want in, you can get your tickets here, and your TCCarry t-shirts here.
See you at the shindig.

* Sure, I've got some quibbles with some of their agenda. I don't think that what the thoroughly corrupt UN administration needs is gender balance among its corrupt and/or incompetent bureaucrats, and let's not get started on what's wrong with this. That's okay -- I can't think of a political or charitable group that I agree with 100%. I'll live.
